A nursery built around children

The Curious Collective is a nursery built around children—their families, early years professionals and our local community coming together to create a nurturing place where meaningful relationships grow and every child's voice matters.

Working hand in hand with families, we are making a space where every child feels safe, known and understood—free to be their own unique and wonderful self.

We open in Worthing in early 2027, as a day nursery for babies and children from six months to five years. Our days follow a nature-led curriculum, with Forest School, Beach School and Farm School, and freshly prepared hot lunches and dinners shared at relaxed, family-style mealtimes.

Our curious little nursery family

Where children of all ages grow, play and learn side by side. Rather than separate rooms for each age group, we have carefully designed, age-appropriate play spaces, with opportunities for children to flow freely between them, following their curiosity and connecting with one another along the way.

Younger children learn alongside older friends, while older children develop confidence, empathy and a sense of responsibility through everyday moments of playing, sharing and helping each other.

Familiar practitioners provide quality and consistency of care, taking time to understand each child’s needs, routines and personality.

We all belong, we all connect, and we all know each other’s names—everyone feels part of the same curious little nursery family.

How a day feels

Joy and play at the heart of each day

Children explore at their own rhythm. They are supported by early years professionals who listen closely, notice, and guide with intention and care.

We believe children learn best through real experiences, open-ended materials and meaningful exploration—from watching the woodlice family under the pot to exploring fascinating sea creatures in rock pools. Nobody hurries them along.

Beyond our doors

A nature-led curriculum

Our curriculum follows children's curiosity, the changing seasons and what is happening in the world around them. Through our Forest School, Beach School, Farm School and local community connections, children develop a relationship with their surroundings and begin to understand their place in the world.
